1. Who can participate in the auction?
This is a sealed-bid auction. Anyone is free to pick-up a bidding form available at the exhibition location or through website download.
 
 
2. When does the auction begin and end?
The opportunity to make a sealed-bid for these lots will commence at 9:00 am on 24 May, 2007 and finish precisely at 6:00 pm on 4 June, 2007.
 
   
3. How do I place a bid?
1) At AIAA 2007, AsiaWorld-Expo
Fill in the bidding form available at the reception desk at Bonhams auction venue and return it by dropping into the collection box.
2) At Harbour City, Gateway Arcade, Atrium II
Fill in the bidding form available at the exhibition venue and return it by dropping into the collection box.
3) Website Download
Fill in the bidding form available from downloading at www.hkbcf.org.hk and return it via fax to (852) 2576-8623
 
   
4. What is the minimum bid?
The minimum bid for each limited BE@RBRICK is HK$50,000
 
   
5. Any chances of viewing the current high bid?
Since this is a sealed-bid auction, viewing of the current high bid is not available.
 
   
6. What if there are two or more people with the highest bid for each lot?
1) Bidders will be notified separately before 17 June, 2007 for a 2nd round bidding where they can offer a higher bid. The 2nd round bid will be open for 48 hours only and the highest bidder from the 2nd round bid will be notified within 3 working days after the 2nd round bid session closes.
2) In case of receiving more than one highest bid from the 2nd round bid session, another round of bidding will continue until only one highest bid offer has been reached.
3) If we are not able to contact the bidder within 48 hours, the bidder will automatically be disqualified to enter the next bid round.
4) Bidders also have a choice to give-up bidding for the next round by not offering bids within 48 hours of notification.
5) If neither bidders can be reached for the next bidding session, the successful bid will go to bidder with the second highest bid from the previous bid session.
 
   
7. When will I know if I am the successful bidder of the BE@RBRICK I have bid for?
Successful bidders with the highest bid will be notified directly by phone or e-mail before 17 June, 2007.
 
   
8.

How do I pay?
Payment is due within 48 hours after being notified in person by telephone that the bid is successful. Payment can be made by the following methods:

Please instruct your bank to include your name, BE@RBRICK Lot Number and invoice number. Please note that we reserve the right to decline payments received from anyone other than the party named on the invoice and that clearance of such payments will be required. 9.

How do I collect the BE@RBRICK after payment?
Lots will only be released to you or your authorized representative when full and cleared payment has been received by Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation (HKBCF), appropriate identification has been provided and a release note produced. HKBCF is entitled to withhold possession from you until payment in full and in cleared funds of the Successful Bid Price in respect of the Lot.

You will collect and remove the Lot at your own expense from HKBCF's custody in accordance with HKBCF's instructions or requirements. You will be wholly responsible for packing, handling and transport of the Lot on collection and for complying with all import and export regulations in connection with the Lot. Please contact HKBCF prior to collection.

 
   
10. What will happen if I fail to pay within 48 hours after notification of successful bid?
If the successful bidder failed to settle payment within 48 hours upon notification, the bid will be cancelled and the Lot will be sold to the second highest bidder.
 
   
11.

What about storage details & charges?
Unless otherwise agreed with Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation, if the already notified successful bidder does not collect the Lot within 7 working days after notification, storage and handling charges may apply.

 
   
12.

LIABILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE
Neither Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation, nor Bonhams or their agents nor staff will have any liability whatsoever in event of any error occurring with the execution of this bid.

13. DISPATCH and TRANSIT INSURANCE
Purchases will be released to your shipper upon receiving clearance notice from Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation, receipt of your written dispatch instructions and of any export license or certificates may be required.
HKBCF is available to arrange dispatch on your behalf. Estimates and information can be provided upon request, please fax your enquiries to (852) 2576-8623 or email to jacqui@communion-w.com.hk.

Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation may receive a fee for its own account from the agent arranging dispatch. Your shipper will include a quote for transit insurance. All shipments should be unpacked and checked on delivery and any discrepancies notified to the transit insurer or shipper immediately. A form for your use in obtaining a shipping quotation is included with this invoice.

 
   
14. EXPORT/ IMPORT REGULATIONS
Please be reminded that shipping cost of the lots purchased must be paid immediately after notification. The denial of any export license required or any delay in obtaining such license cannot justify the cancellation of the sale or any delay in making payment of the total amount due.
